My name is Stephanie Herrera, and I am a Latinx Artist based in Brooklyn, New York.  I wear many hats in the creative industry. From crafting captivating content to capturing moments through the lens of my camera, I thrive in Content Creation, Photography/ cinematography, Set Design, and Wardrobe.
I make art to pass on a message that wouldn’t otherwise have been told. I believe all human experiences no matter how small should be told. Everyone wants to be able to see themselves on  the big screen and feel seen. I specifically love telling stories about immigrants. I am a first generation American and feel it's important for me to be able to tell the stories of latinx immigrants who aren’t able to.
My art addresses Family, solitude, friendship, life of an immigrant, and mental health. My short film “Adelante,” is based on true events that have occurred, and are still occuring. It is a very heartfelt demonstration of the everyday struggle of an undocumented immigrant mother and her child who recently moved to the United States. Many undocumented immigrants go through the daily struggle to make ends meet, but we pursue and move forward! "Adelante" was featured as a official selection in Señorita Cinema Film Festival, and SWIFF.
Beyond the classroom, I'm fortunate to be part of the amazing environment at NBCUniversal SNL, where I work as a Productions Intern. Here, I'm gaining hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of television production, learning the ins and outs of bringing ideas to life on screen.
As I continue on my journey as a creator, I remain committed to pushing boundaries, elevating diverse voices, and inspiring others through the power of visual storytelling. With each project, I strive to leave a lasting impact, igniting conversations, sparking empathy, and fostering a deeper appreciation for the art of cinema.
